2-hour led local walks around Fountainbridge and the Canalside to explore the connections between people, place and our historic environment.
Includes interactive discussions, led jointly with Keep Scotland Beautiful, that will feed into our upcoming Community Action Plan – come share your knowledge and views of the local area!

Discover the history and heritage of the Union Canal and how the historic buildings, places and spaces shaped the area. Join Fountainbridge Canalside Community Trust and Keep Scotland Beautiful on a guided walk and take part in discussions about the future of the canalside area. Whilst walking and pausing at key locations, we will think about the area’s buildings, places, and spaces – how its history has shaped the place it is today and can help it to become a successful place for the future.

There are some interesting maps and pictures to look at during the walk as well.
Please wear footwear and clothing appropriate to the weather. Dress warmly for stopping and looking as well as walking.
choose you preferred time and starting location here there is no need to book, except to help us know how many people to expect.
The three walks will be broadly similar, though because the people will be different each time, they will be different too. Most people would attend one, though you are also welcome more than once if you enjoy it!
