Thursdays at 10 is a good time for a walk. Our Canalside Walking Group continues to walk every week over the summer. We always meet at “the swans” at Fountainbridge Square and walk for about an hour with the option of tea/coffee afterwards.

Last week there were real swans at our meeting point too, and we enjoyed the tree shade in Dalry Cemetery on our walk.
In July we are planning some longer walks including to the Floral Clock and to the Community Garden at the Royal Ed. In August and September we have some themed walks planned on History and Writing.
Here are a few Dates for the Diary

31st July 2025 Community Garden at the Royal Ed

Our walks are part of the Scottish Health Walk Network led by trained volunteer walk leaders. As we expand our programme of walks we are also looking to recruit a few more volunteer walk leaders, all training and equipment provided. If you enjoy walking and would like to help others to get out for a walk too then this could be the ideal volunteering opportunity for you. Contact Fiona if you are interested in finding out more, or come and join us on a walk.

Our Walking Group is currently being funded by Awards for All and is made possible thanks to #NationalLottery players
