Thrive Fest – Mental Health Awareness Week (14-21 May 2023)

Keep Calm and Visit the Canal

Bookings are free but essential

Thursday 18th MayLed-walk around the canalside awakening our senses to colours and sounds of the canal. Walk departs at 10am, Fountainbridge Square, EH3 9QB, at the end of the canal.
Open to adults of all ages, approx. 1 hr walk followed by refreshments on the Lochrin Belle canal boat. Click the title to book your slot.

Thursday 18th May (pm) – Drawing Workshop with Cassandra Harrison– Edinburgh Printmakers
Spend 90 minutes mindfully creating your own map.  In this session you will learn some basic ink drawing skills to draw trees, waves, hills and more.  We will look at all the different feelings we have in a week (highs, lows, ups, downs, all the feelings that make us who we are) and draw our own personal map of our mental terrain.  Whether we draw the mountains of anticipation or The Forest of Deep Thought, we all have our own way of mentally journeying through life. Friday 19th (pm – 1 hr) – Creative tape workshop cruise with Heather Marshall – Lochrin Belle Canal Boat
Family friendly creative workshop on the Lochrin Belle canal boat. Come and join Heather for some fun with tape and a cruise up to Harrison Park and back. Click the title to book your slot, click more options to choose your time.

Sunday 21st May (pm – 1 hr) Movement and Meditation Cruise – Lochrin Belle Canal Boat
Kim from Jump Edinburgh will guide you through some mindfulness with music activities, seated stretches and 20 minute meditation with headsets. All this while cruising along the canal on our boat the Lochrin Belle, which will take you from Edinburgh Quay to Harrison Park and return. Suitable for adults only.
